Rhythmic Circus began eight years ago at a small theater in Northeast Minneapolis and has grown into an internationally acclaimed touring group, having taken the show to more than 200 cities around the world. They play to sold-out theaters and have amassed a collection of awards, including Edinburgh Festival’s “Spirit of the Fringe” top theatrical award in 2012. It’s easy to see why. Their unique combination of dance, music and beatboxing kept the audience enthralled with their energy and talent.
Elizabeth Lanfranki, who is beginning her fourth year of teaching at Martin Luther King Jr, Junior High in Pittsburg, and Brian Wheeler, who is starting his fifth year of teaching at Alhambra High in Martinez, were selected from among four finalists based on speeches, classroom visits and application packets, “Both Elizabeth and Brian will represent the teachers of Contra Costa County in a stellar fashion,” County Superintendent Joseph Ovick said Friday, “Both possess all the attributes of an exemplary teacher, and I know they black knitted slippers for women, pompom slippers, chunky slippers, ballet flats, knit slippers, women slippers, house shoes, gi will do well not only in their classrooms, but as ambassadors from Contra Costa County in the state competition.”..
